PRESS RELEASE - Flanagan Foodservice Inc
June 16 th, 2009- Flanagan Foodservice Inc. annual charity golf tournament returned to Foxwood Golf and Country Club in Baden on Friday, June 5 th, 2009. Despite the challenging economic times the event surpassed expectations by raising $45,000.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will help send disabled children to camp through Friends of We Care. For more than 25 years, Friends of We Care has been dedicated to sending physically disabled children to summer camps through the Easter Seals camping programs.
The tournament was followed by dinner and a cheque presentation by Jim Grieb, tournament organizer and Vice President of Purchasing at Flanagan Foodservice Inc. to Kevin Collins, Director of Friends of We Care. Events such as this are only possible through the participation of customers, manufacturer representatives and employees.
Friends of We Care Ambassadors, Michaela Rye and Tyler Preece expressed their gratitude to everyone for their continued support of this worthy cause.

Retailers in the City of Toronto will be required to charge a minimum of 5 cents per plastic bag as of June 1, 2009.
The City of Toronto has a goal of diverting 70% of waste from landfill. To reduce the volume of plastic bags and encourage the use of reusable bags/bins, retailers in the City of Toronto will be required to charge a minimum of 5 cents per plastic bag requested by the customer at checkout, as of June 1, 2009.
